In Medias Res by José Parlá

Born in Miami in 1973, critically-acclaimed artist José Parlá has spent his career focused on what lies at the boundary between abstraction and calligraphy. In Media Res is a meticulous monograph of Parlá’s work, and represents themes from his childhood in South Florida in the ‘80s, time spent in Puerto Rico and abroad, and journeys through his ancestral Cuba.

This mixed media work was published by Damiani with an introduction by Bryce Wolkowitz, forward by Lara Pan and essays by Dieter Buchhart and José Parlá.
