Standard / Quiksilver OG Scallop Black Boardshorts
In celebration of the bold attitudes and bright colors of the boardshort’s golden era, Quiksilver has partnered up with The Standard to reissue their original boardshorts from the 70s and 80s but with modern fits, fabrics and technology.
This exclusive series includes 4 different designs each inspired by a different Standard Hotel location and their respective color identities.
New York’s OG Scallop is black on black on black. New Yorkers like to wear black. And gold (The Standard’s snap is gold.)
FEATURES:
Diamond Dobby Material: The ultimate in in-water performance. No rash. Perfect stretch. Ultra light-weight. Quick dry. Perfect for surfing, sleeping, lounging, getting huge at the gym, hiking, biking… pretty much anything.
18" Length: Back in the ’70s, boardshorts came down to the mid-thigh. In the 90s, they dropped below the knee. As an homage to the golden era of boardshorts, but out of respect to the other guests at The Standard, we met you half way, in the middle and designed these in a reasonable, right-above-the-knee 18" length.
Two Button Closure: True to the originals, these shorts feature snaps instead of drawstrings. One says The Standard, one has the Quiksilver mountain and wave logo.
Subtly Standard: It’s not about the brands, it’s about the boardshorts. We included some very subtle branding; there’s a tonal Standard logo embroidered on the rear waistband and an upside-down Quiksilver patch on the front.
Scallop Leg: Originally designed to facilitate better flexibility during super radical surfing maneuvers, the scallop leg remains a distinct retro design feature.
Quik Tips City Guide by Natas Kaupas: Each pair of boardshorts comes with a carefully curated list of addresses corresponding to unique groups of destinations near each of the 4 hotels; curated and scribbled out by legendary skateboarder and Quiksilver Creative Director Natas Kaupas. New York’s theme is “Summer in the City.”
Packable Pouch: comes packages in a specially designed odor resistant waterproof travel bag. Get out of the pool, bag up your boardies and throw them in your suitcase.
Sizing: Please note shorts run large. When placing your order select a size down from what you would normally wear.
