Because Of You combines Julia's interest in handmade objects and materials that have both strength and fragility. 
In a unique edition of 25, Julia has made two connected ceramic links that are stamped with "BECAUSE OF YOU" and also stamped with her initials, date, and edition number. In 2011 Julia had an exhibition at Half Gallery where she installed ceramic chains varying in length from five to thirty feet and this new edition is a continuation of Julia's interest in ideas of connectivity.
 
Because of You when stacked is approximately 8" x 5" x 2", each link 3/4" diameter. Because each is handmade, size and shape will vary.

Julia Chiang is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been exhibited at places such as Nanzuka Gallery, Tokyo; Colette, Paris; Half Gallery, New York; Bill Brady KC, Kansas City; and Deitch Projects, NY. She has been granted residencies at Anderson Ranch, The Vermont Studio Center, and Henry Street Settlement. Julia's work has been written about in publications such as Modern Painters, Paper Magazine, Art in America, and Purple. Later this year Julia will have solo exhibitions at Fuse Gallery in NY, Nanzuka Gallery in Tokyo and Bill Brady KC in Kansas City.
