Barbara Kruger is an American conceptual artist. Before becoming an artist, she held art and design jobs with various Conde Nast publications. Her work, which she executes in a bold black/white/red color scheme, combines imagery from mainstream magazines and media with witty captions that tackle notions of feminism, consumerism and desire. Captions for which she is most well known include “I shop therefore I am” and “Your body is a battleground”. Her work has appeared in museums and galleries worldwide as well as in several more unconventional locations such as billboards, busses and public parks.
Towels are 100% cotton, 60” x 70” and are made in Brazil.
